Instinctive sound: The exploration of instincts through music with Shigeru Ishihara Conference (DE)
Inside MIRA Berlin’s Conference Program, Shigeru Ishihara will talk about how music is one of the tools that lets us communicate emotional experiences and that evokes emotional reactions in us. It makes us empathize and create connections by just listening or dancing to it.
The exposure to sound can get addictive for many as an intense and emotional experience. Why does music make us connect internally and externally? What is the relation between the spiritual experiences and playing or composing music? How are these unconscious reactions to music related to our most deep human instincts?
Shigeru Ishihara is a Berlin based electronic music producer, mostly known as breakcore-gameboy legend DJ Scotch Egg, but also for playing bass in Seefeel (Warp Records), the Devilman project and Small But Hard Records, he has recently released the dub LP ‘Shinsekai’ (Jahtari, 2017) as a part of WaqWaq Kingdom.
“Instinctive sound: The exploration of instincts through music” will be moderated by Estela Oliva.
